Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) for the Evanston Animal Shelter

Monday through Thursday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday noon to 3:30 p.m.
Take the Brown Line to Kimball, then the CTA bus # 93 Northbound to Oakton and Dodge.
They adopt out about 700 dogs and cats a year.
From the Evanston city shelter.
$100. Includes basic vet care and spaying or neutering.
Once you visit the shelter and fill out an application, an adoption counselor will help you to select a dog that will fit into your home and lifestyle. C.A.R.E. uses a system developed by the ASPCA called the Meet Your Match™ Canine-ality Adoption Program to help match up people and dogs. You will then meet one-on-one with potential adoptees in a visiting room.
You must be over 21 and bring a copy of your lease or mortgage statement to show that dogs are allowed in your home.
