"I have two Dalmatians, ages 3 and 7. How do I know if they are cold? At what temperature would they need a coat?"
|
| Answer: |
| Many dogs, especially large, robust dogs like Dalmatians, don’t need coats in the winter. Do your dogs shiver when they’re outside, or tuck their tails under and shift from foot to foot? If so, they’d probably appreciate a coat. Dogs that are small, skinny, frail, or elderly are the most affected by the cold. And greyhounds, with their thin skin, thin hair, and lack of body fat, should always wear coats when it’s 45 degrees or less outside.
