Spaying and neutering is free for Pit Bulls (and Pit Bull mixes) and just $25 for all other breeds. Vaccinations, $15 for distemper and $18 for rabies (Cooks Country rabies tag included), are only offered to dogs being spayed or neutered.
A charity clinic here also performs basic veterinary care for low-income residents (proof of income, family size, residence and utility bills are required). A basic exam is $5, a 1-year rabies vaccination is $13 and a distemper vaccination is $8. Surgeries and dental services are also available, with prices determined based on ability to pay.
Hours: The low-income clinic is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.. Appointments are required. Spaying and neutering appointments for the general public can be scheduled Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
