dog days of wisconsin
Unlike Camp Dogwood, which is much closer, Dog Days of Wisconsin offers camp dates in the summer, and children are allowed.
The camp is located in Almond, WI, just south of Steven's Point. It's a four to five hour trip.
Take 94 W to Milwaukee, then 41 N to Oshkosh. Cross Lake Butt des Morts, then take 45 N to 10 W. Take 10 W to the third Waupaca exit. Then take 54 W for 13 miles to County A. Turn left and travel south on County A for 3.5 miles. The camp will be on your right. You'll find a map on the camp's website.
Beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes in a range of dog sports, including agility, lure coursing, and rally obedience. A chance to pass the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen test or Therapy Dogs International's temperament evaluation. A lake to swim in and trails to hike.
A spot in the great outdoors to relax in and enjoy with your dog. If you're seeking mental stimulation, a wide range of dog-related seminars are offered, from how to use aromatherapy to increase your dog's well-being to learning effective clicker training skills.
Accommodations are rudimentary. The 200 acre grounds and onsite lake are the big draw.
For your dog: food, dishes, a towel, a crate, collar and leash, and bedding. For you: a pillow and sleeping bag.
Smoking, alcohol, and dogs in heat are not allowed. Leashes are required in some areas of the camp, and scooping the poop is mandatory.
