An enormous open prairie, the Springbrook Prairie has a nice-sized fully fenced off-leash area. In all DuPage Forest Preserves, an annual dog permit is required. Cost is $35 for residents, $150 for non-residents. An application can be downloaded here and submitted via fax, mail, or in person.

There are two free-run dog parks here—a seven-acre fenced area and a two-and-a-half-acre parcel reserved for dogs under 30 pounds. A permit is required for access and costs $25 per dog (there's a three-dog limit) for residents and $50 for non-residents.
