Locals tell us that dogs are (unofficially) allowed off-leash in this fourteen-acre park in the early morning hours. The park's not fenced though, and it's close to some busy streets, so be cautious.

A dedicated dog run and a larger segment of the park (Dog Park Plus) that is open to off-leash dogs during limited morning hours (on weekends and national holidays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. between April 1 and October 31, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. between November 1 and March 31). Access to either area requires a Park District permit. The permit costs $39 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog (there's a three-dog limit per household), and is available to Oak Park residents only. Proof of vaccination is required.
